Greetings! Looking for a great way to spend a fun day with the kids that doesn’t break the bank? The Great Dairy Adventure on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 will feature loads of fun for kids!
Cow milking, craft projects and milk mustache photos are just some of the things to entertain kids as they explore the wild world of dairy. Free ice cream treats, giveaways, drawings and hands-on activities that teach the nutritional benefits of dairy foods will also be included in this adventuresome day! So pack up the kids and the picnic basket and head out to the Pavilion for a fun-filled day of learning about the dairy world.
From toddlers to teenagers, there is something for everyone. Teachers/leaders will receive packets of nutrition education materials that provide simple ideas for teaching kids the importance of including three servings of dairy a day in their diets, in addition to physical activity, to help them develop stronger bones and a healthy lifestyle. Kids will learn that when they put good energy into their bodies, they get energy out.
Admission and all activities are free for kids and adults of all ages. Picnic areas can be set up on the lawn around the Pavilion and concessions are available. Activities will take place inside the Pavilion and all events are handicapper accessible. There will be great photo opportunities so don’t forget the camera!
The Great Dairy Adventure is part of the Michigan Dairy Expo. Hundreds of cows and their owners will take part in the four-day Expo beginning July 20th. Students from FFA chapters and 4-H clubs around the state will take part in skills contests during the events.
