The fresh, wholesome milk you buy in Michigan comes from Michigan!
Milk is the No. 1 agricultural product produced in Michigan, with more than 1,800 licensed Grade A dairy farms located throughout the state.
Michigan’s dairy farms provide more than enough milk to meet demand from the state’s processing and bottling facilities. Fluid milk is not imported into Michigan, although surplus milk is exported to help meet demand in other states.
Each container of milk is identified by a 5-digit code. The code includes a 2-digit state code followed by a 3-digit processing plant code.
No single dairy farming family is successful on their own. They have a team of individuals dedicated to milk safety and animal health and well-being to produce milk of the highest quality.
